Racing this weekend was pretty rough. Unfortunately, I was dropped from both races before I ever had a chance at winning.
The prairie center criterium was blinding fast from the gun and didn’t let up. After about 20min I was cooked and had to let the group go. A similar story during the Boulder-Roubaix except for I hurt my hand on all the rough road, so I was actually relieved when I got dropped.
After analyzing both races, I can come to the conclusion that I got dropped becaise my FTP is just too low. In both instances, the intensity factor was .978 or better. The only way to keep my up in the peloton is going to be hammering away at FTP development.
